5940-Wild Spanish Horses-LaChua Trail

5940-Wild Spanish Horses-LaChua Trail

A group of the Paynes Prairie Wild Spanish horses, led by a black stallion, had been grazing, and slowly moving East across the prairie; but one of "his" mares and her offspring had stayed back grazing.

When the first group all but disappeared into the foliage to the East; another group led by a brown stallion, following the same trail, came upon the straggler mare; and she, and her youngster mingled in with the new comers.

The black stallion got wind of the situation, and circled around to the south-west coming up behind the group, to confront his rival, and fetch back his mare,

The encounter follows.
